GUIDELINES

Revised effective January 7, 20101

The van Löben Sels/RembeRock Foundation provides grant funding to organizations serving Northern California. The Foundation’s grants are now limited to the following areas:

  1. Legal advocacy and public interest law;

  2. Juvenile justice, including programs and services to youth involved in the juvenile justice system, policy development, and direct services;  

  3. Programs for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and men;

  4. Legal services programs that address the needs of immigrants and newcomers in areas of civil rights, deportation, asylum, “know your rights,” and civic participation; and

  5. Selected social services programs in remote, underserved communities with scarce resources.

The Foundation will not consider applications that:

  • require medical, scientific, or other technical knowledge;

  • request funding for an individual or family;

  • request funding for scholarships or stipends;

  • request funding for capital campaigns;

  • seek support for programs outside Northern California;

  • do not follow the application format.
