The van Löben Sels/RembeRock Foundation provides grant funding to
organizations serving Northern California. The Foundation’s grants
are limited to the following legal and social justice areas:

Legal services:
including support of direct legal services and public-interest law.
Examples: discrimination, housing, immigration, and civil rights.

Juvenile justice:
including programs specifically designed to meet the needs of youth
involved in the juvenile
justice system, the direct legal
services and/or policy development related to juvenile justice
reform.

Incarceration:
including programs that serve women
during incarceration; re-entry programs for formerly incarcerated
women; and literacy and art programs for all prisoners.

Community-based social justice
programs in remote, underserved, under-resourced areas.
The Foundation will not consider applications that:

require medical,
scientific, or other technical knowledge;

request funding for
an individual or family;

request funding for
scholarships or stipends;

request funding for
capital campaigns;
-
seek support for
programs outside Northern California;
-
request support for
fundraisers, annual dinners, galas, or award banquets.
The Foundation accepts grant proposals on an ongoing basis. We ask
that you use our application format that can be downloaded from our
